"The exhibition « Breaths » invites the spectators to penetrate a space where shadows confound with dreams. The artist Beth Anna Hynum presents a new series of paintings in clair-obscur, snatching images of the human body that rise from nebulous backgrounds. The moment the gallery threshold is passed, one becomes an authorised voyeur, invited to be bewitched by the charming apprehensions of the unknown. The spectator dips into a humid atmosphere where the figures are enveloped in mist and tucked into a maritime abyss, a place where sighs of assuagement are almost audible...." -excerpt from Isabelle Santos, curator.
